The Friends of the Museum is a private, non-profit, 501(c)(3), organization forging a public/private partnership between supporters of our state’s rich maritime heritage and the state of North Carolina. The largest annual assistance for the museum comes from this non-profit support organization.
Although much of the Friends organizational funding is from annual membership dues, pledges and annual gifts to the Friends from private individuals, businesses, and corporate foundations complement the Museum's major funding sources. Local banks and businesses have consistently contributed to museum programming; and several local individuals have been major donors toward property acquisitions.
Contributions are welcome whether they be earmarked for particular projects or given with the intent of simply helping the Friends of the North Carolina Maritime Museum fulfill the goal of maintaining the public/private partnership between supporters of the Museum and the state of North Carolina.
