Repository Tours on Thursdays at 10AM & 2PM.Tour the new shipwreck exhibit at the Gallants Channel annex.(closed Dec. 20 & 27 & Jan.3)Tickets $5 adults, $2 Children & school groups with chaperones.Call for reservations by 12 Noon the prior WEd.Call the education dept. for school tours. Exhibit includes a diorama of the QAR shipwreck site,artifacts from Civil War blockade-runners, gunboats and rams, and a cast iron ship's stove & large cooking pot. (December 1)
"Cape Lookout Expedition:Photography by Scott Taylor" features photographs taken during the popular Cape Lookout Photographic Expeditions with the museum's Cape Lookout Studies Program.His photographs appear frequently in numerous magazines, including "Wildlife in NC" and "Coastwatch". the Scott Taylor Photography studio is in Beaufort,NC where he displays photographs of natural scenery, events & weddings. (January 19-March 30)
Sailors' Crafts displays the arts and crafts sailors created in their off-duty hours on ship, including scrimshaw, fancy rope work, models and carved objects. (April 5-May 25)
