The
Friends of the North Carolina Maritime Museum Traditional Small
Craft Association (NCMMTSCA) is a chapter of the National TSCA,
which is a nonprofit, tax-exempt educational organization which
works to preserve and continue the living traditions, skills, lore,
and legends surrounding working and pleasure watercraft whose
origins predate the marine gasoline engine. It encourages the
design, construction, and use of these boats, and it embraces
contemporary variants and adaptations of traditional designs.
The NCMMTSCA is a loosely knit bunch of people who like to “mess
around in small boats”. To join our local chapter, simply
check the box on the Friends of
the NC Maritime application and mail an additional ($5) activity
fee along with your annual dues to the Friends of the North Carolina
Maritime Museum. We publish a newsletter called the Centerline and
promote the following events:
-
Fall
“In-the-Water Meet” followed by the annual membership meeting in
October
-
Fall
Paddle/Row/Sail Day around Carrot Island each fall
-
Early

-

-
